Before you send an e-invoice via the Peppol network, it's crucial to ensure that your client is registered.

⚠️ If your clients aren’t registered on Peppol, you won't be able to send them invoices via the Peppol network.

1. How can I check if my client is on Peppol?

When creating a new invoice in the Accountable app and selecting the option to send it via Peppol, the system will automatically check whether your client’s VAT number is linked to a valid Peppol address.

You can also search your client with their VAT number on the Peppol Directory to see if they are registered on Peppol.

2. What can I do if my client is not found?

If the system indicates that your client is not registered on Peppol, follow these steps:

  1. Contact your client to confirm whether they are connected to Peppol.

  2. Ask for the exact VAT number they’re registered with to ensure there are no mistakes.

If your client is not yet connected, you can suggest that they register through an official Peppol provider to start receiving Peppol e-invoices.

3. What if I send a Peppol e-invoice anyway?

If you try to send an invoice via Peppol to a client who isn’t registered, the delivery will fail. You will receive an error message in Accountable, and the invoice will not be delivered through the Peppol network.

At this point, you’ll need to choose an alternative delivery method, such as sending the invoice by email.

By checking your client’s Peppol registration status in advance, you can avoid delivery failures and delays in your invoicing process.
