What happens if a transfer is declined or fails?

Possible reasons for a failed transfer

Incorrect recipient details
The IBAN or recipient name is incorrect.

Insufficient funds
Your account does not have enough balance to complete the payment.

Technical issues
Temporary bank outages can delay or block payments.

Recipient’s bank declines the payment
The recipient’s bank may reject a payment (e.g., closed account or transfer restrictions).

Exceeded transfer limits
Your account or card limit may restrict the transaction.
💡 Tip: Check your limit in the app and adjust it if needed.

What happens to your money?
Your money stays in your Accountable Banking account.
Failed transfers are automatically refunded or not debited.
You can resend the payment once the issue is resolved.
