As of the 2026 income year, the flat-rate expense deductions for copyright income have been removed. Withholding tax must now be calculated on 100% of the income, without any automatic deductions.

Our tool will soon be updated to reflect these changes. βœ… In the meantime, here is a simple method to help you invoice correctly.

πŸ”Ή Temporary steps to invoice copyright income in 2026

  1. Toggle on the "Client will pay the withholding tax" option.

    • This displays the calculated amount and who is paying it on the invoice.

  2. Copy the information from the green box (withholding tax amount, total, etc.).

  3. Toggle the option off again.

    • This prevents the system from applying outdated calculations.

  4. Paste the information into the "Notes & comments" section of the invoice.

  5. ⚠️ Important: double the amount of withholding tax manually.

    • The system still calculates it on 50% of the income, but it should now apply to 100%.
