Swan may ask you for an additional Belgian document during your Accountable Banking application. Here is which documents are accepted.

During your Accountable Banking application, our banking partner Swan may ask you for an additional document. As your primary identity document is non-Belgian (for example a passport), Swan needs one official Belgian document showing your national registry number (RRN/NISS) or your BIS number.

✅ Which documents can I provide?

You can upload one of the following:

  • Belgian E or E+ residence card

  • Annexe 8 / 8ter or an official municipal registration document

  • An official Belgian social security or tax document

  • Belgian residence permit

  • An official notarial deed showing your RRN/NISS or BIS number

Important notes

  • Only one document is required

  • The document must be valid, clear and fully visible

  • It must show your national registry number (RRN/NISS) or BIS number

  • Upload it as requested in the email you received. Can't find it? Check your spam folder or contact the support team and we'll help you out

What happens next?

Once you upload your document, Swan will review it, usually within 1 to 3 working days. As this is a regulatory check, the review is handled directly by Swan.

💡 Good to know: Swan can only open your account once your enterprise number is active in the KBO. Here is how to check it.
