Does Accountable store my banking credentials?

No, your banking credentials are never stored

Accountable does not access or store your banking credentials.

How is access to my bank account managed?

Since 2019, access to most bank accounts (except ING) is handled by our trusted partner Budget Insight (now Powens).

Powens is a France-based company regulated under the European PSD2 directive. It is officially authorised by the French authority (ACPR) as a Third Party Provider (AISP & PISP), meaning it meets strict security and compliance standards.

What about ING accounts?

Access to ING accounts works differently.

Instead of using your banking credentials, access is granted through a signed paper mandate sent directly to ING. This means your credentials are never stored or shared.

Why this matters

Your security is a top priority. By relying on regulated partners and secure access methods, your sensitive banking information always remains protected.
