How do I update my bank account with the KBO/BCE and VAT administration?

Written by Steve

When you start your professional activity, Swan (our banking partner) can't always open your business account right away, since your enterprise number first needs to be active in the KBO/BCE. That's why many clients start out by registering their personal account with their social insurance fund, then open their Accountable Banking account once everything is verified.

If Accountable Banking has since become your main professional account, you'll need to update your bank account details in two separate places.

1) Update your bank account with the KBO/BCE 🏦

Free, via myenterprise.be
You can update your IBAN yourself, for free, via myenterprise.be using your eID or Itsme. This is usually the fastest and easiest way.

Via your social insurance fund
Your social insurance fund (for example Liantis, Xerius, Securex, Acerta) can also update your IBAN in the KBO/BCE for you.
👉 Note: this is usually a paid service.

2) Update your bank account with the VAT administration (form 604B) 🧾

If you're VAT-registered, the VAT administration also needs your new account number on file, so your VAT refunds are paid into the right account.

Since 2021, this can only be reported electronically, via the e604 application, which is directly accessible through MyMinfin:

  1. Log in to MyMinfin with your eID or Itsme

  2. Go to "My tax return"

  3. Select "Report the start, change or end of my VAT activity"

  4. Update your bank account number there (form 604B)

⏳ You have 1 month from the date of the change to report it.
