How can I switch to Accountable from another software?

You are using another software but want to switch to Accountable? Great!

Let me show you how to do that.

Pick a start date in your account

First, decide from which year you want to start, any time after 2020 is fine. You can then change your starting date in the taxes settings to your desired year, e.g. 2022.

Export previous data

In the next step, you need to export your data from your existing software. Ideally, you can export your invoices and expenses as separate PDF-files.

You only need the data from the fiscal year you want to do your taxes with Accountable. So if you want to catch up on for 2022 submission, you only need to add your 2022 data.

Import your data to Accountable

There are several ways to import your existing data to Accountable.

Via Drag & Drop in Accountable Web

For your existing invoices, just go to the revenue screen and click on import invoice

then, you can just drag and drop your existing invoices and review them.

For your expenses, just go to the expenses screen and drag and drop them in the designated field and also review them.

Via email

You can also just forward your existing invoices and receipts directly via email.

Just send your revenue to umsatz@accountable.eu and your expenses to belege@accountable.eu.

The documents will create automatic revenue and expenses that you just need to review and confirm.

It is important that you send the emails only from the email address with which you are registered in Accountable. Otherwise, the email cannot be assigned to your account.

If you want to send the email from a different email address, you should set it as an "alias" under Settings > Personal Details.

Please also make sure to send the invoices and receipts separately in PDF, JPG or PNG format.

Manually

Another option is to manually add your invoices and expenses directly in Accountable by

clicking on either + Add Revenue in the revenue screen

or on + Add Expense in the expenses screen in the top right corner.

Use GetMyInvoices as an external interface

You can also use the GetMyInvoices software as an external interface.

Here you can then connect your previous accounting software and arrange for all documents to be transferred to GetMyInvoices. If you still have Accountable connected, you can transfer the documents from the software directly to Accountable.
