💫 How to switch to Accountable from another software
You’re using another accounting tool and want to switch to Accountable?
Great choice! 🎉 The good news: switching is simple.
Here’s your step-by-step guide to make the move smooth and stress-free.
📅 1. Choose your start date
First, decide from which year you want to start using Accountable.
Any year from 2020 onward works perfectly. Once decided, you can set your start year in the Tax settings - for example, 2024 if you want to prepare your 2024 tax return with Accountable.
📤 2. Export your previous data
Next, export your data from your current software.
Ideally, download your invoices and expenses as individual PDF files.
👉 You only need the data for the tax year you want to manage with Accountable.
If you plan to file your 2024 tax declaration, just import your data for 2024 and the current year.
📥 3. Import your data into Accountable
You can bring your data into Accountable in several easy ways:
🔹 Via Drag & Drop in the Web Version
Go to the Revenue page and click “Import invoice”.
Drag your invoices into the upload field and review them.
To import receipts (expenses), go to the Expenses page and drag them into the upload area.
🔹 Via Email
You can also simply forward your invoices and receipts by email:

expenses@accountable.eu
Accountable will automatically create revenue and expense entries from your attachments - you just need to review and confirm them.
📌 Important:
Send the emails from the same email address you use for your Accountable account.
If you want to use a different address, you can add it as an alias under
Settings → Personal details → Email alias.Make sure to send invoices and receipts separately in PDF, JPG, or PNG format.
🔹 Manually
Prefer to add your data manually? No problem!
On the Revenue page, click “+ Create invoice”
On the Expenses page, click "Upload new expense" (top right)
🔗 4. Use GetMyInvoices as an external interface
If you have a lot of data or use several tools, you can connect GetMyInvoices as an external interface.
Link your previous accounting software to GetMyInvoices
Allow it to send all your documents there
Then connect Accountable, and your documents will transfer automatically

Take a moment to review your imported data, after that, you’re ready to go!
