Creating an account

How to create an account on Accountable for Accountants and how your client invites you.

Written by Emma Raes

1. How to access your client's account

The Accountable for Accountants platform lets you access and manage your clients' accounts. There are two ways to get access: your client gives you direct access, or you send them a request to connect. Here's how to get started:

1.1. Client sends you an invitation ✉️

To access your client's account, your client needs to send you an invitation first. This happens via the email address you give them — this is the same email address you'll use every time to access their account.

How your client sends an invitation:

Step 1: Your client goes to Settings → 'Data sharing' and clicks 'Grant access' to someone.

Step 2: They need to enter your email address (the email address you'll use to access their account).

Step 3: As an accountant, you'll receive an email invitation. Click the link in the email and fill in your details to create your Accountable for Accountants account.

Step 4: After creating your Accountable for Accountants account, go to accountants.accountable.eu and log in with the same email address you registered with.

Step 5: You'll receive a magic link by email. Once you click it, you'll get direct access to your client's account.

2.2. How to register on Accountable for Accountants

If you want to register for Accountable for Accountants without being invited by a client, simply go to accountants.accountable.eu and click 'Sign up'.

Next, fill in your details and click 'Create account' to complete the registration process.

⚠️ Important: one-time setup

These steps are only needed the first time you set up access to your client's account. Once you've completed the process and created your Accountable for Accountants account, you won't need to go through the previous steps again.

For security reasons, you'll automatically be logged out of the platform every 24 hours. To regain access to your client's account, simply follow Step 4 and Step 5.

There's no need to go through the invitation process again.
